History
Essential Talent started out as Ricarp Productions in 1985. Producing shows first for the Adelaide night club circuit and then in 1986 a contract for a Vegas style revue was secured. This was to be the first of many International tours.
Ricarp Productions quickly established itself as a market leader, producing and touring a variety of shows throughout Asia to Amusement Parks, Casino's, Theatres and Cruise ships. In 1995 founder Richard Laidlaw bought Australian based Entertainment Agency "Essential Talent" known for it's large market share of corporate entertainment. After a short transition period Ricarp Productions was dropped as the main trading name with the Production Company, Agency and newly formed Entertainment School all falling under the one name “Essential Talent”
In 1999 the company expanded yet again with the purchase of Actors Ink, an agency representing Professional Actors and also casting TV Commercials and Films and then again in 2009 with the purchase of SA Freelancers representing film crew and technicians.
Essential Talent and Actors Ink is the only company of it's kind in Australia. It’s an entertainment empire covering all facets of the Entertainment Industry. Producing and touring theatrical productions for stage. Producing & developing shows for film, TV and cable. The agencies represent actors, variety performers, film technicians and crew for stage and film. Actors Ink casts actors for stage, film and TV and the Academy training actors, singers and dancers for the industry.
