South Australian born tenor Alex Bond started singing classically at the age of fourteen having been introduced to classical and pop music by his parents at a very young age. This interest evolved throughout the years of Alex's life, the first and foremost influence in Alex's musical interest is John Farnham. Alex heard John Farnham at the age of seven during a concert in East Timor when John Farnham was performing for the troops.

Alex developed a respect for John Farnham and his music, which lead Alex to start singing along with his music at a very young age. Then in early 2001 Alex heard the astounding voice of Freddie Mercury front man of the English band 'Queen'. At first Alex did not like the style of Mercury's singing, but gradually took a liking to it and grew to appreciate the great talent that was he. Alex started singing along with Freddie Mercury and John Farnham a lot more than he used to in.

Alex heard in late 2003 a duet that Freddie Mercury had sung with Montserrat Caballe, a Spanish opera singer, the duet was called "Barcelona'. Alex found this absolutely amazing, and automatically loved the operatic sound of the Spanish soprano. He then went out and bought a DVD of John Farnham, Anthony Warlow and Olivia Newton-John called 'The Main Event', in which Anthony Warlow and John Farnham sang an operatic song. These event are what lead to Alex really liking classical music and appreciating it for what it is.
